Whale Shark off the Galapagos Islands

Have you ever felt really small? Diving with a whale shark will ensure that you have that experience. Whale sharks can be over 40 feet in length and weigh a massive 21 tons! Think of them as a slow moving school bus and you get the general idea.

Whale sharks are filter feeding sharks that primarily feed on plankton and other small creatures so they pose little threat to divers as long as divers respect them and maintain a healthy distance from their powerful tails. They are truly majestic creatures that you can see while diving if you time your vacations carefully.
